In surgical settings, particularly in vascular neurosurgery, the complexity of procedures necessitates a tailored approach to ensure safety and efficiency. Current checklists often focus on hospital liability rather than guiding surgeons through the intricacies of surgical tasks. Summary: This editorial presents a customized checklist designed specifically for microsurgical clipping of intracranial aneurysms. Developed from the experiences of local surgeons and aligned with World Health Organization principles, the checklist aims to enhance interprofessional communication and improve surgical outcomes. Implementation of the checklist showed a significant reduction in surgical delays and enhanced team satisfaction regarding communication and safety culture. Conclusion: A role-based checklist for intracranial aneurysm clipping has the potential to improve team communication and maximize surgical outcomes, particularly in low-volume centers. Its successful implementation underscores the importance of structured protocols in enhancing surgical safety and efficiency.
