This letter presents a unique case of a giant, multiseptated thoracic myelomeningocele with a segmental placode, highlighting the distinctive features associated with this rare variety. Summary: A 16-month-old male child presented with a progressively enlarging thoracic swelling since birth. Imaging revealed a large, multiseptated swelling with a segmental placode, and surgical intervention was performed to excise the placode and tethering stalk, resulting in a stable postoperative course with no neurological deterioration. Conclusion: This case emphasizes the importance of recognizing the unique presentation of thoracic myelomeningocele with segmental placode, which can occur with preserved neurological function. It underscores the need for careful surgical management to prevent future neurological deficits.
