Paul Sudhakar John","Hershdeep Singh","Moloti Kichu","Parul Gupta","Pallavi Chaudhary"],"abstract":"Background: The incidence of dural-based metastasis (DBM) is 4% of all patients diagnosed with metastatic cancers. DBM most commonly arises from primary cancers of the lung, breast, and prostate. Most cerebral metastasis lesions are intra axial tumors, whereas a dural base metastasis mimicking meningioma is uncommon. Case Description: Here, we are presenting a case report of a 64-year-old woman with a history of treated left breast cancer 14 years ago, who presented to us in the casualty with left lower limb weakness for 1 month and dizziness for 7 days. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain, plain and contrast, showed a dural-based lesion over the right parieto-occipital region. Patient underwent surgical removal of the lesion, and its histopathological examination (HPE) and immunohistochemistry showed a DBM with primary from the breast. Conclusion: This case report discusses the clinical aspects of a case we observed, in which a dural-based metastasis mimicking a meningioma was confirmed on HPE in a previously treated case of breast cancer.","thumbnailUrl":"https://sni-digital-videos.s3.amazonaws.com/articles/sni-17-389/figures/SNI-17-389-g002.jpg","publishDate":"2026-07-10T00:00:00.000Z","doi":"10.25259/SNI_9_2026","categories":["Neuro-oncology","Case Report"],"fullTextUrl":"https://surgicalneurologyint.com/articles/sni-17-389/SNI-17-389.pdf"}
