Byard"],"abstract":"Background: Intra-tumoral hemorrhage is a significant phenomenon associated with various types and grades of intracranial neoplasms. This condition can lead to sudden clinical deterioration, acute hydrocephalus, and even death, particularly in cases involving colloid cysts and other tumors. The etiology of spontaneous hemorrhage in these tumors remains unclear, with potential mechanisms varying between malignant and benign lesions. Methods: This article discusses a clinical case of acute intra-tumoral bleeding in a colloid cyst of the third ventricle, highlighting the unusual features of this presentation. The case illustrates the consequences of hemorrhage, including the development of acute hydrocephalus and compression of vital brain structures. Results: The case presented involved acute intra-tumoral bleeding with extra-tumoral spreading, resulting in severe clinical symptoms. The findings suggest that even benign tumors can exhibit malignant clinical behavior due to their intracranial location and associated complications. Conclusion: The malignancy of brain tumors is not solely determined by histological characteristics; the intracranial location can significantly influence clinical outcomes. This case underscores the importance of recognizing the potential for hemorrhage in all types of intracranial neoplasms.
