Supplementing this training with workshops and courses in microneurosurgery is essential, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) like Peru, where such opportunities are limited. Summary: This letter discusses the experiences and challenges of implementing microneurosurgery workshops and courses in LMICs, with a focus on Latin America and Peru. It highlights the efforts of various organizations and institutions to provide training through innovative methods, despite economic and technical limitations. Notable advancements in countries such as Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil are also presented. Conclusion: The growing interest in microneurosurgery training worldwide underscores the need for neurosurgery residency programs, especially in LMICs, to enhance education through simulation and skill development. Establishing formal training programs and integrating workshops into residency curricula is crucial for continuous education and improved surgical proficiency.
