Blaylock"],"abstract":"Background: The article discusses the historical challenges faced by proponents of freedom in defending foundational principles such as private property and free enterprise against modern liberal intellectual assaults. It highlights how the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War catalyzed a questioning of these principles among the youth, leading to a broader critique of societal structures. Methods: The article employs a historical analysis of intellectual movements and revolutions, examining the role of propaganda and managed truths in shaping public opinion. It references key figures and events from the past to illustrate the evolution of ideas and their impact on society. Results: The findings suggest that intellectuals have played a crucial role in the propagation of collectivist ideologies, often through the manipulation of information and the promotion of managed truths. The article argues that this has led to a significant shift in societal values and beliefs, undermining the foundations of freedom. Conclusion: The article concludes that for democracy to survive, it is essential to maintain access to truthful information and to challenge the narratives constructed by intellectual elites. It emphasizes the need for active defense of freedom against the pervasive influence of managed truths.
