Imaging characteristics can support the diagnosis of metastatic melanoma, but alternative diagnoses should be considered. Case Description: Here, we present a case of a 57-year-old man in whom a metastatic melanoma initially mimicked the imaging characteristics of cortical laminar necrosis. Conclusion: This comprises the first report of melanoma brain metastasis presenting with these imaging characteristics and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for metastatic lesions in patients with known cancer.","thumbnailUrl":"https://sni-digital-videos.s3.amazonaws.com/articles/0f3220c1-17ef-49b4-a487-afc05dd95e39/featured/hero-1781560626429.png","publishDate":"2022-12-23T00:00:00.000Z","doi":"10.25259/SNI_285_2022","categories":["Neuro-oncology","Case Report"],"fullTextUrl":"https://surgicalneurologyint.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/12078/SNI-13-584.pdf"}
