The implementation of simulation spaces is essential to enhance the training of neurosurgeons and improve their academic performance. This is particularly important in Latin America, where many residents do not achieve optimal training outcomes due to limited resources and opportunities. Summary: The Department of Neurosurgery at the Luis N. Sáenz Central Hospital of the Police has established the first neuro-microsurgery and 3D printing laboratory in Peru, aimed at improving surgical training through simulation. Utilizing advanced technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, these simulation programs enhance residents' skills and confidence, leading to better patient safety and clinical outcomes. Despite the high costs associated with implementing these technologies, they are crucial for developing competent neurosurgeons in Peru. Conclusion: To ensure that future Peruvian neurosurgeons are equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to compete internationally, it is vital to promote the establishment of simulation spaces within residency programs. This approach will facilitate the integration of new technologies in surgical training, ultimately benefiting both residents and patients.
