Methods: The article presents a personal narrative detailing the author's journey from medical education to learning computer programming. It describes the process of acquiring programming skills through self-study and practical application, culminating in the development of a successful medical app. Results: The author successfully created the NeuroMind app, which became the most downloaded neurosurgical app globally. The app's development and subsequent upgrades garnered significant attention, leading to invitations for speaking engagements and recognition in the medical community. Conclusion: Learning computer programming can enhance a physician's career by fostering creativity and enabling the translation of ideas into practical solutions. As the medical field increasingly relies on technology, having programming skills can facilitate better communication with technical professionals and improve clinical practice.
